#DAMM2020 will be the first global online conference on additive manufacturing

Published on April 16, 2020 by Carlota V.

Events around additive manufacturing are crucial for the sector, allowing many players and users of the technology to exchange and discover the latest market trends and developments in additive manufacturing. Given the worldwide spread of COVID-19, 3D printing events have been deeply affected and many have been postponed or even cancelled all over the world. This is why Link3D, Rapid + TCT, Aerodef & 3Dnatives are coming together to announce the industry’s first 26.2 hour Digital Additive Manufacturing Marathon. The online conference, #DAMM2020, will take place on April 27-28, with the goal of connecting the additive manufacturing industry globally in times of social distancing.

Following the successful Digital Additive Manufacturing Conference organized by Link3D in March, #DAMM2020 will focus largely on bridging the gap between additive manufacturing communities throughout the world. Last month, 1,300 people and 40+ thought leaders from the additive manufacturing community came together in solidarity for two days of inspiration, knowledge, and virtual networking. The need to come together remains strong, which is why Link3D, Rapid + TCT, Aerodef & 3Dnatives are bringing #DAMM2020 to the industry at this point in time. The global event will be free and accessible to everyone across multiple time zones.

It’s more important than ever to stay connected with the community and learn from each other’s struggles and successes to overcome these uncertain times.” shares Shane Fox, CEO of Link3D. “Link3D’s team is stepping up to play our role within the industry by virtually connecting people. We hope this will provide a platform where innovation can grow and problem solving emerges.

The Digital Additive Manufacturing Marathon will consist of 40+ presentations from additive manufacturing industry leaders, including executives from EOS, APWorks, HP, nTopology, Carbon, GoProto, Mayo Clinic, TUV SUD, Velo3D, NASA, Renishaw, NIST, Kennametal, Additive America, Morf3D, Arevo, Tangible Solutions, The Barnes Group Advisors, Wabtec, 9T Labs, Sembcore Marine, DNV GL, etc., with virtual networking sessions taking place throughout the day. The event will present an opportunity for individuals and organizations to openly discuss their current initiatives, applications of additive manufacturing technologies, and high-level thought leadership.

Virtual networking sessions will take place throughout the day

RAPID + TCT, North America’s largest and most influential additive manufacturing event having been postponed to April 2021, this conference will be a new opportunity to connect influential players together. Angela Szerlong, additive manufacturing industry manager for SME explains: “Supporting the additive manufacturing industry is central to SME’s mission of advancing manufacturing. RAPID + TCT and AeroDef are committed to helping the additive manufacturing industry prosper and grow, and we are proud to support this initiative.”
