CHITUBOX Reinvents Itself: A Faster, Smarter and More Connected Slicer

CHITUBOX slicing software has just announced major updates for all its users, which should make 3D printing prep easier, streamline workflows and help ensure more reliable models. First, its Basic and Pro versions have been merged into a single application. Now, thanks to a new multi-level subscription model, there’s something for everyone, whether you’re just getting started or you’re a seasoned pro. Additionally, there are new features such as Multi-Platform, a brand new user interface, AI-driven support and Free Draw Area for support addition.

What’s New in the CHITUBOX Slicer?

The company’s goal for the new slicer is “Unifying user experience and improving efficiency.” So, the team implemented several important updates: 

1 – Multi-Platform  

The most significant feature is undoubtedly Multi-Platform, which emphasizes connectivity. It allows users to prepare their models in batches on 100 different building platforms, with the ability to automatically distribute the parts across them. With Multi-Platform, you no longer need to import and cut each part individually—the tool can distribute the prints and process them simultaneously. And if you have many parts to produce, Multi-Platform can intelligently distribute them across multiple platforms. No more spending your time organizing your production or playing Tetris! 

2 – Easier Support Generation 

With a redesigned support panel layout and workflow, CHITUBOX makes support creation more flexible and efficient than ever. Thanks to significantly faster overhang detection and batch support options, manual support placement is more convenient and dependable than ever. Meanwhile, automatic support generation is noticeably faster, and Magic Support allows users create multiple types of robust supports in just one click. 

If you are sufficiently advanced in 3D printing, you can place your supports as you wish, without using the algorithm proposed by the slicer. The Area Support Function allows you to manually draw a specific area to add custom supports. The user controls the process from start to finish and can choose different types of supports. This is the key to successful printing and to optimizing post-processing afterwards.

3 – Improved Performance for a Better Workflow  

Finally, in terms of performance, CHITUBOX is faster when it comes to cutting out models and saving them. With a refreshed UI, better-organized panels, and smarter interaction logic, CHITUBOX provides a more intuitive and efficient experience.  

Default and customizable keyboard shortcuts have also been added to increase efficiency, allowing users to work faster with reduced waiting times. Professional users in particular can switch between functions fluidly, maximizing productivity 

To give you an idea of these performance improvements, the company claims that models load 13 times faster, slices are saved 5 times quicker and overhangs are detected 34 times faster. These figures prove that the software has been redesigned to deliver better results.  

And in line with this redesigned workflow, CHITUBOX has upgraded ChituAction, a feature that simplifies complex tasks, allowing users to prepare their models for cutting with a single click. A major update to ChituAction is the introduction of new digging and drilling tools, making the workflow more complete.

4 – Advanced Model Repair  

There is nothing more frustrating than starting a print and seeing it fail. It wastes time and materials, which means higher costs. To avoid this,  CHITUBOX not only optimizes the model repair function, but also introduces a new Advanced Repair feature. Building on the foundation of basic repair, Advanced Model Repair goes further — delivering deeper analysis and handling complex model defects. In addition, the repair function has also been optimized, with a threefold increase in the success rate. 

5 – AI Assistant  

It is difficult to overlook the advantages that artificial intelligence can offer in 3D printing, particularly in terms of task automation and problem solving. That’s why the new version of CHITUBOX includes an AI assistant: a chatbot trained to provide immediate assistance and solve problems encountered by users. Users can count on fast, reliable help to optimize their productivity.

• Basic Tier: This first level is designed for beginners, hobbyists and 3D printing enthusiasts who are new to the technology. It is completely free and includes all the key features you need to get started.  

• Advanced Tier: This intermediate level has been developed for anyone who wants to improve their productivity and the way they prepare their models. They can count on a better experience and all the tools they need to better manipulate and load models. They also have access to Multi-Platform.  

• Pro Tier: This is the version for designers and professionals looking to maximize their efficiency. In addition to the features of Advanced mode, they have ChituAction, Advanced Model Repair, Batch Support and Text Labels.
