Profile

The Senior Materials Engineer, Additive Manufacturing is an onsite role based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, focused on the design, fabrication, and analysis of additively manufactured materials and printed electronic systems for high-consequence national security applications. This role integrates materials science, electronics, and mechanical engineering to develop electrically functional hardware using a wide range of additive manufacturing technologies, including material jetting, multiphoton lithography, and powder and filament-based processes. The engineer leads printed electronics design, manufacturing process development, and performance testing while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across Sandia and external partners. The ideal candidate brings five or more years of relevant experience in materials or additive manufacturing research, strong experimental and analytical skills, and the ability to translate advanced manufacturing concepts into reliable, mission-ready hardware while contributing to original research, publications, and future program development.
