Description:
Leverage mechanical / electromechanical skillset to support innovation activities in the Central Maintenance department.
The qualified intern/Co-op should expect to contribute & improve in the following functions:
- Support ongoing initiatives in expanding the Additive Manufacturing applications across the body shop.
- Support Predictive Maintenance projects and initiatives.
- Project Plan and rollout of vibration sensors across body shop.
- Investigate additional sensors / data collection methods that could be used to move to a condition-based maintenance strategy.
- Design and test concepts for utilizing additive manufacturing to build key replacement components (weld gun shanks, weld gun arms).
Qualifications:
- Mechanical Engineering Degree.
- Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major).
- Have enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
- Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
- Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours / week).
- Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
- MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT.
- Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
- THE WORK TERM DATES ARE January 12th – May 15th, 2026.
- Must be an enrolled student during all three rotations.
