Metal 3D printing technologies are central to PWR’s future manufacturing capability. Using Powder Bed Fusion (PBF) technology and state-of-the-art equipment, PWR’s Additive Manufacturing team produces advanced cooling components that push the boundaries of design and performance. Our team ensures the infrastructure, materials, tools, and equipment are in place to rapidly iterate and produce high-performance components. The team plays a crucial role in delivering advanced cooling solutions for motorsport and aerospace applications, while also developing and demonstrating groundbreaking new technologies, designs, and approaches.
Core duties will include:
- Set up, operate, and monitor Powder Bed Fusion (PBF) printers, de-powdering machinery, and supporting post-processing equipment.
- Conduct routine maintenance, calibration, and basic troubleshooting to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimal downtime.
- Inspect printed parts for dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and defects; perform rework or finishing operations as required.
- Maintain clear, accurate, and detailed documentation of production activities, maintenance logs, and quality checks.
- Collaborate with engineers and technical teams to develop, refine, and implement advanced printing processes and workflow improvements.
- Support process optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives within the additive manufacturing environment.
- Follow and enforce all workplace health and safety protocols, maintaining a clean and compliant work area.
- Assist in training or mentoring team members in machine operation and post-processing procedures when required.
Essential
- High School Education or above.
- Proven experience in PBF printer operation or similar Additive Manufacturing technologies.
- Proficient in operating PBF printers and support equipment such as EPlus3D, SLM, Velo3D, Solukon, or similar, with a solid understanding of PBF processes.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to consistently produce high-quality parts.
- Experienced in inspecting PBF parts for defects and dimensional accuracy.
- Ability to interpret technical documents and maintain accurate records.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues related to the PBF process.
