Developed by US-based Desktop Metal, the X160Pro™ is a scalable 3D printer based on binder jetting technology. The compact device, which will be launched in 2022, is part of the manufacturer’s X-Series, which also includes the InnoventX™ and X25Pro™.

Features of the X160Pro™

This 3D printer has a maximum build volume of 500 x 800 x 400 mm and a layer thickness between 30 and 200 µm. It is an open platform that can print all materials, from ultra-fine metal injection molding (MIM) powders to coarse sands, ceramics and other specialty materials. Like the other machines in this series, it is equipped with industrial piezoelectric print heads and the manufacturer’s patented Triple ACT Binder Jetting technology. This technology enables the use of high and low throughput materials, as well as small and large particles.

Other features include external dimensions of 3498 x 2010 x 2220 mm and a weight of 3700 kg. According to the manufacturer, the X160Pro™ is an ideal 3D printer for a variety of applications, from prototyping to mass production, thanks to its ability to easily produce large, complex parts.
