Nanoscribe is a German company that manufactures 3D printers and is based in Karlsruhe, Germany. Nanoscribe’s printers use advanced two-photon polymerization technology to produce developments in micro-optics, micromechanics, biomedical engineering and photonics. As part of the BICO Group, Nanoscribe strives to unite technology and biology to reduce organ shortages and accelerate drug development. The company currently offers a wide range of 3D printers, including the Quantum series (X, X bio, X shape and X align) and the Photonic Professional GT2.
Features of the Quantum X align
The printer uses Nanoscribe’s Aligned 2-Photon Lithography (A2PL®) system, which combines Nanoscribe’s microfabrication technology with high-precision positioning capability for automatic alignment of printed structures. Using this technology, micro-optical elements can be printed directly onto the surface of photonic chips with exceptional sub-micron precision. Through the function of automated self-calibration, the Quantum X align independently ensures the highest laser control and positioning accuracy. With the help of “smart slicing”, 3D microfabrication takes place at a particularly high speed and thus provides the ideal basis for rapid prototyping and small series production of free-form micro-optics.
