Voxelab is a Chinese manufacturer of 3D printing solutions, whose Aquila range of FDM printers includes the Aquila D1, C2, S2, and X2. They have entered the LCD resin market with the Proxima 6.0, a 4K high precision LCD Resin 3D Printer which falls on the budget side of the cost spectrum.

Rest assured, your prints will be fast and high quality: the 4k screen results in a 50% faster print speed according to the manufacturer.  The light source (on which LCD printing relies on to cure the resin) is stable and efficient. Even higher efficiency can be achieved due to the larger print chamber (print size dimensions 130x76x155mm, which allows the user to print multiple parts in a single operation of the machine. The high precision linear guide rail means parts will be of a consistently high quality. In terms of the detailing, your parts will benefit from greyscale anti-aliasing for detailed models (meaning the edges are smoothed by reducing the number of lines).

Not only does the Proxima 6.0 produce fast and efficient results, it is also simple to use. The 4k high resolution mono screen is easy to understand, and an easy leveling system will save you headaches. The printer also benefits from a touchscreen 3.5 inch screen with a simple UI design, available in Chinese and English.

The Proxima 6.0 is compatible with two recommended softwares: the Chitubox, a professional all-in-one SLA/DLP/LCD slicer which is widely used in dentistry, consumer electronics, jewelry, and more, and Voxelab’s proprietary VoxelPrint.  The latter is particularly suitable for beginners due to its simple interface.

Voxelab suggests a range of applications for the Proxima 6.0, including in education and medical treatment, as well as hobbyist sectors like individual studios and kit pieces. Reviews for the printer suggest overall satisfaction, particularly for the price, although some users do mention a steep learning curve on first try.
