Developed by US-based Desktop Metal, the P-50 Production System™ is a metal 3D printer for industrial applications. The device is based on the manufacturer’s Single Pass Jetting™ (SPJ) binder jetting technology and features a bidirectional 3D printing system. Compared to other solutions on the market, it is said to accelerate additive manufacturing of metal parts by a factor of 100.

Features of the P-50 Production System™

Designed for mass production, this 3D printer has a maximum build volume of 490 x 380 x 260 mm. Desktop Metal’s SPJ technology supports reactive and non-reactive metal powders, providing an open platform for small and complex batch production. With external dimensions of 3935 x 1910 x 2005 mm, the machine combines quality and consistency with increased process flexibility.

The P-50 Production System™’s additive manufacturing environment, open material platform and choice of binders enable the company to 3D print with a wide range of metals, from stainless steels to high-performance alloys. Desktop Metal says its solutions bring metal 3D printing to the forefront of industrial additive manufacturing.
