The Fuse 1 is the first 3D printer based on SLS technology from American manufacturer Formlabs. Known for its SLA Form 1, Form 1+ and Form 2 machines, the Boston-based manufacturer has entered the selective laser sintering market, a technique normally associated with industrial 3D printers and whose selling price has traditionally reached several hundreds of thousands of euros.
Scheduled for the end of 2017, the Fuse 1 should be available for a price of just over € 12,000. It uses a laser to solidify a material in the form of powder. The Fuse 1 will make nylon parts (PA11 and PA12). The manufacturing volume offered by the Fuse 1 is 165x165x320mm.
