The Epsilon W50 is a professional 3D printer launched in 2020 by manufacturer BCN3D Technologies. Based in Barcelona, the company announced the launch of its 3 new machines, including the Sigma D25 and Epsilon W27, which have been equipped with their new Independent Dual Extrusion (IDEX) system. Additionally, BCN3D offers users the opportunity to acquire the machine with Smart Cabinet (SC), which increases the printer’s performance. Though be aware that this is not yet available. The Smart Cabinet is interesting as it will enable users to keep their filaments in optimal conditions, an important consideration especially for those using technical filaments.
Furthermore, the Epsilon W50 is designed to ensure maximum productivity through a hassle-free experience. It features a print volume of 420 x 300 x 400, slightly larger than its companion, the Epsilon W27, and full connectivity to quickly produce functional prototypes with quality and precision. It is compatible with standard thermoplastics, technical materials, as well as composite materials. The Epsilon W50 integrates a control screen, an enclosed and heated chamber, facilitating workflow with preset configurations and simple commands.
IDEX is a Key Feature of the Epsilon W50
One of the most striking features of these new machines is the double extrusion. The Epsilon W50 has 5 different 3D printing modes: single mode, duplication mode, mirror mode, multi-material mode and soluble media mode. Thus, the independent double extrusion technology (IDEX) makes the difference in 3D printing.
