3D Systems, the American manufacturer of 3D printing solutions, was founded in 1986 by Chuck Hull. Since then, the company has developed a broad range of 3D printers, materials and 3D printing services and software. In 2019, the DMP Factory 350 expanded 3D Systems’ offerings.
The DMP Factory 350 is a comprehensive solution for additive manufacturing with metal materials, and unlike the DMP Flex 350, the DMP Factory 350 features integrated powder management. This is equipped with a sieve function and an automated powder transport. Thus the powder is used to the maximum and the use of consumables is reduced. This ultimately results in lower total cost of ownership.
Apart from the integrated powder management, the DMP Factory 350 has the same functions as the DPM Flex 350, including a vacuum chamber, which greatly reduces argon gas consumption while achieving the highest oxygen purity (<25 ppm). This allows parts with a high density and good mechanical properties to be printed. This leads to a high part quality that is repeatable.
The DMP Monitoring allows the printing process to be monitored in real time, which also has a positive effect on part quality. Thus, the DMP Factory 350 is suitable for companies that want to scale up series production in a targeted manner and require closed powder management.
