Aconity3D, German manufacturer of metal 3D printing machines of Laser Powder Bed Fusion fame, has put itself forward as a contender within the direct energy deposition (DED) manufacturing field with the addition of the AnconityWIRE into its catalog of machines. The AconityWIRE expands Aconity’s range into new areas with powder-free, wire-based 3D metal printing.

Despite its compact design, the AconityWIRE has an ample build space of Ø 400 mm x H 780 mm for the production of medium-sized parts. The 6-axis robot and 2-axis rotary tilt platform also enable the production of particularly complex parts, as rotation in all directions is covered. The material is applied by a wire feed with a wire diameter of 0.4-0.8 mm., which is surrounded by inert gas and a ring-shaped laser beam. Although still under development, the technical features are already confirmed and the AconityWIRE is now visible in the Aconity product portfolio visible on their product website.
